We are looking at getting Photoshop. We found a site:

http://www.edirectsoftware.com/default/PhotoshopCS-B.html

that sells a "bundled" version of 6 plus the CD upgrade of 8-CS. So does this sound legitimate? They want 374.99 for it compared to a retail box of 8-CS for 559.99. I’m guessing the bundle is an OEM of both. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks,
Greg

I don’t know if the site is legit or not.

But if you have a copy of Photoshop Elements, look in its folder. It might have a link to upgrade to Photoshop CS for $300 directly for Adobe. Even if the offer is expired try it, they may still honor it. I had purchased a Sony VAIO that came preinstalled with Photoshop Elements. Found the link in the folder. Even though the offer had expired in November of last year I clicked on it just to see. Now I have it. This was at the end of March. When Adobe announced it was taking pre-orders for Photoshop CS 2, I called them & told that I had just purchased Photoshop CS in March. I’ll be getting the upgrade in May for the price of shipping.

At least this way you’ll know it’s legit.

I consider myself very lucky. When I bought the computer, I didn’t know it came with Photoshop Elements. I would not have purchase Photoshop Elements on my own, didn’t want it. But I did want Photoshop CS, but couldn’t afford the $650 price tag. Now I’ve got it all for the price of 2 upgrades. I’m happy.

How about ebay Photoshop 6.0 gray market unregistered (i.e. French OEM bundle disk only) $49.00, ebay Photoshop CS upgrade $99.00, onshore with full warranty, support, ect. If you could find a ebay copy of PS 5.0 that would work as well. $165 with shipping ect. seems a good deal to me. Heck the upgrade to the latest and greatest is only what around $159 last I looked, that would put you right about where your at for the package your looking at. I got 8.0 a hell of a lot cheaper than what you would pay at your local Staples or Office Depot, and about half of the package your looking at, it would seem. It just takes a little time and work. If you need it yesterday, fine you got to pay the freight.
