My Photoshop CS just kicked back the same error message:
1. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format and
2.A required application library failed to load and the product can not continue. Please reinstall the application.

It has been working fine for months. Same thing after mulitple reinstalls with no luck.

sounds like a plug in is missing something or was uninstalled incorrectly.

Try disabling your third-party plugins by putting a tilde "~" at the front of their names. If the program now loads, one of the plugins was the problem. Proceed to add one or two at a time, start Photoshop, see if the problem comes back. If so, you have isolated the culprit.

I gave the laptop to my husband, he fiddled with it, and now it’s fixed.

Erin:

Would you like to share the manner of, and the results of, your husband’s fiddling? <grin>

Knowing how he fixed it may help others in this thread who are experiencing the same problems.

Chris.
