I probably can’t see this for looking !

If I add an adjustment layer to a photo , how can I save it so I can add it to future photo’s if I wish. ( I have CS2)

save the one image you adjusted with layers in tact as a psd then open the other image and drag it onto it

and/or record the steps as an action
and use automate>batch to do the same adjustment to a number of files in a folder

I’ll look into that ‘saving as an action’ sounds like what I need, I was already just opening an older psd file but was looking for something a bit neater.

Thanks

If you want to use the adjustment layer over and over, say to adjust the output level of the dark area for printing to get better shadow detail, Create a new file with a very small size (say 1 inch by 1 inch) and then drag the layer onto it. Save it as a PSD with a descriptive name and then you can open it and drag the layer(s) to your images. The small file means that you won’t take up much space and it will open quickly.

If I needed an adjustment layer over and over again, I would record it as an action and even assign an F-key to that action.
