I want to rename image files and would like to include the ‘date taken’ tag from EXIF data. I used IrfanView with jpg files, no problem.
But it doesn’t allow to see psd files, or batch rename them. NEF files, you can display and move around, but no batch rename. Browsing the forums I came with the recommendation of using THE Rename. Wonderful, especially the preview and undo capabilities. Also, renames NEF files perfectly.
However, I just can’t put an EXIF tag into PSD filenames… Any ideas?
Thanks a lot!

OK, I think I answered my own question.
To see PSD files in Irfanview, they have to be saved with a composite layer, or flattened. And at least in PS 7.0.1, images saved in PDF format do not retain EXIF information. They do in TIFF or JPEG.
Anyone knows of a way of conserving this info in PDF format? I hope so…
