I am able to remove all the backgrounds form a selection in Photoshop CS. I can place it in a colored background and magnify it over 500% without seeing any of the original background, It looks perfect

The problem is when I try to place it on the web or in an email there is a white halo around the selection. I have set the background in the email so it exactly the same as the one I used in Photoshop.. I go so far as to make sure the hexidemal values of the colors are the same, I continue to get this halo effect.

I’ve used he defringe command and that makes no difference

I tried using the transparency wizard. When I chose to use a gif I get the same result. When I choose a PNG I somehow get a light green background around the selection

I am using Windows 2000 and Internet Explorer 6 so everything is up to date,

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong.

I would appreciate any advice

Michael

Save for Web. Use GIF with transparency checked. Make sure the Matte color selection is close to the background color of your page.

You should not see a fringe.
