Hi,

Nikon makes a "Nikon Capture Editor" which is great for NEF (RAW) files. If you screw up on the EV compensation or the White Balance, you can adjust them with a simple slider move and immediately see the changes. The NEF files, however, are about 10 MB each or about 3-4 times as large as a large, fine JPG. For parties, I usually shoot JPGs.

I have a loads of JPG images for which I need to change the white balance (bright sun to cloudy). Using either curves or color balance in Photoshop is very tricky compared to the the Nikon, proprietary procedure above. Is there a Photoshop plugin to simplify the procedure for JPG files? One which can be used as part of an action?

Or, is there some clever hacker out there who has figured out the Maxwell-Boltzmann equations to transform an image shot at 5200 Kelvins to 6000 K? It shouldn’t be that hard.

Thank you,

BrianP
