If I have more than one image open in Photoshop CS3 I cannot just go to Window and select one of the other images. I have to minimize the image currently on the screen to choose another image. Has anyone got a solution?

Sounds like you are in full screen mode. Press the F key to rotate through the various window layout options.

Mike,

I tried the "F" key for every possibility. I am unable to select another image from the menu in any type of window.

How much memory do you have?
What graphics card?
Is it a discrete or integrated card?
What OS?

Usually your symptoms happen when the machine is underpowered. Sounds like you have enough. I wonder if there is a file corruption lurking. PS is not releasing, or using all the memory it can. There are various ways of trying, I am guessing here though, but none should take a huge amount of time.

The standard remedy is to delete preferences with PS. (see the help file for the correct procedure.)
Check you preferences. Is there sufficient memory allocated to PS? Is there some background program grabbing your memory.
Are your video drivers up to date. there is also the not very likely possibility of a driver conflict,
I would also consider a virus scan using something like ETrust. I have a thing about not using Norton, which has been known to cause strange behavior.

Past that I have run out of ideas.

Benny, in another thread, suggested that I reset all my Photoshop preferences following these instructions:

It worked perfectly. Photoshop is fully functional now.

Thanks, Benny!
