I run WIndows WX/Pro with 1.2G processor and two drives. The "C" drive is an 80G Maxtor; partitoned (a mistake?) 18Gs are free in the "C" partition and 40.7G is free for back-up in the "F" partition. The second drive is an 80G Seagate and it’s virtually empty.
I have just noticed that when I edit an image in hue/saturation it seems to become pixelated as soon as I click on the adjustment slider and remains so while I make an adjustment. It reconforms, so to speak, once I release the slider… very distracting.
Is this an issue of how I have my scratch disc conformed? I have "C" drive selected first and the open "G" drive second. The CS operating system is on the "C" drive. Should I have "start-up" selected first?

C: and "startup" will both point to the same place, so it will make no difference whatsoever. Startup refers to the system startup drive.

The Primary Scratch Disk is better assigned to a drive other than the system drive.

This will avoid read/write conflicts occuring when both Windows Paging and Photoshop Scratch are attempting to access the same disk at the same time.
