I am using cs2 (can’t afford to upgraded yet) and have been having this problem for some time.

If I open an image in Photoshop and go to use the clone tool with it’s default setting it will not work. It comes up with a round brush 21. If I chose the are with the alt click and clone nothing happens. However, if I change to like a stippled brush it works fine. I have been trying to work around this, not wanting to un-install and re-install. But, today I thought I would give it a shot. I un-installed, rebooted, and then re-installed (Oh yes on a windows xp system). Went in and it still does the same thing. I have it installed on computers at school and they work fine.

Anyone every run in to this before, I really appreciate any help I can get,

Thanks in advance
Bolo

Hi Bolo,

When I encounter weird problems like this, the first thing to try is the three fingered salute. Hold down ctrl, shift, and alt while starting Photoshop, and say yes when it asks if you want your prefs reset. —

Just tried that, that did not do it. This is really weird. However, I liked you solution. Just wished it had worked….

Thanks again
