Obviously new to this forum then… you don’t need to do that. Friendly expert help is always nearby.

What do you mean "out line" your subject?

If you mean how do you select or isolate your "subject", the answer is: It depends on the image. Photoshop has a wealth of selection tools. Most beginners start with a magnetic lasso and the bright ones learn how to tweak it with quick mask.

Go forth and do likewise…F1 is your friend in this case.

Robert,

You will generally find that such topic titles as yours do nothing to garner any quicker help than a meaningful title. In fact, you may well get less help because most people feel that topics which can be quickly browsed to zero in on specific problems are those most deserving of a reply.

If you’ve just started using Photoshop then you are best directed to also start referring to your user’s guide which will cover topics such as how to select an image area and the tools for doing so. That is one very basic way to get where you’re wanting to go…Using the lasso tool, magnetic lasso, path tool, or any of the other selection tools available, select your subject area as accurately as possible, such that the outer edges of the selection define the area where you want an outline. Then, use the stroke command to create a line of whatever width and color you like, that traces around the edges of your selection. That simple approach looks only as good as the accuracy of your selection, so read up on how to refine your selection. You might also study up on the Extract command.

Good luck,

Daryl
