I am working in Photoshop CS. I am relatively new to the program and get most of the work out just fine. However, I have a problem.

I have a client who requires that I size each set of photos in 5 different size formats. I usually provide them with at least 50 different pics of each assignment. Once I have processed the different shots, I then must size each one separately and repeat this 50 times then do it 4 more times for the different folders.

I place each size set in a separte folder e.g. Full Size, Web Size, Postcard Size etc. This is very tedious and very time consuming.

I really need your help.

Thanks in advance.

The least complex way to do this is to create an action for each size and then run each one in batch on a particular folder.

Create an action that resizes to your specification for each resize event. Include a Save As… step in each action. When you are done recording the action, toggle the dialog to OFF for the Save As step in the action palette.

You will then be ready to batch:

File|Automate|Batch:

Action to run: Resize 1
Source: Folder
Choose: pick the source

Destination: Folder
Choose: pick the destination
Override Save As Information: CHECKED

Optionally choose a naming convention and hit go. Each image will open, one by one from the source folder, the action will perform the prescribed steps, with a Save As step as the final event, then the image will close; rinse and repeat for each of your resize actions.

Thank you for asking the question that I also needed help with. I’ve never done a Batch but I’m good with the actions so I’ll be adding this as my new "To Do List".

Thanks!! I needed that. The way I was doing it was taking hours to complete. I will do this on the next run which is coming up soon.\
