Hum,
Some more info would be useful,
can you give us the steps in the action that the droplet uses?
In essence it does this:
Open c:\x\1.jpg
open c:\x\2.jpg
open c:\x\3.jpg
where the front end copies the images into the correct directory.
The directory is populated and the droplet works normally on MOST computers. As stated before, if a jpg is dropped into the droplet, the images 1,2,and 3 should open as they do on most. The problem computers just open photoshop and thats all. No hanging up or locking up. Its like the droplet is ignored completely.
In this forum have been occasional posts where it was reported Photoshop CS droplets were inoperative, that is, drop a file or folders onto a CS droplet icon and nothing happens.
Is this symptom applicable?
keywords: cs, droplet
absolutly. I cant swear as to if its a CS or a 7.0 issue, but I will check that out too. Were there ever any resolutions to this?
Thanks,
David
can they double-click on a jpg in windows explorer and have it open in photoshop? if not (if just photoshop opens, but no image) there’s probably a "%1" missing in the file association in the registry. see the faq:

None that were pretty…
1. Install CS upgrade on a new machine (no previous version of Photoshop)
2. On an existing machine, reinstall Windows (apparently to refresh the Registry), and then install CS upgrade along with all other applications and data files
3. Windows’ Registry gymnastics (way beyond me)… See:

David,
check, but it is extremely likely that the ones that do not work, are being used on a mac, that was a OSX upgrade from OS9.
if so, email me @ I will get you an answer
Definatly not Mac.. I wrote the frontend in Visual Basic, so its only for PC
David:
Is it the CS boxes that are having this problem?
Im still waiting for a confirmation on that one, but I wouldn’t doubt it. Do you think that installing 7.0 also will fix this problem?
re:

If you mean reinstall PS7 along side of CS, it’s worth a shot. I have not, however, seen any reports indicating this tactic restored CS droplet functionality.
I would be more inclined to uninstall CS (and hope it cleans up after itself), then reinstall PS7 and see if you regain droplet functionality under PS7.
There’s got to be a reason this is happening… some obscure combination of circumstances/settings, etc. Keep updating this thread as you get results one way or the other. Whatever progress you make — even if none, will add to the info collected so far.
did you read and verify post #5?

It seems to be related only to the droplets. They have no problem opening images manually.
Thanks
