OS Win 2000P, Ram 3.8G PS 5.5, with Preferences PS ram set for anything over 999mb, when used amount exceeds 1000mb and goes to HD then PS looses memory and PS fails to operate properly like cannot open or save files and other things stop working. In particular if PS Ram set to 1100mb and if this amount is exceeded to using 1700mb then scratch shows ram dropped from 1100 to 1050mb and PS stops working. Sometimes giving error "not enough RAM". If PS RAM set to 999mb then all works. We have 3.8G and can only use .99 for PS. Have later versions of PS but do not like feel and do not use. This problem only effects W2000P and works fine up to 2G on OS=NT4. Also found MS mouse wheel not working for PS on W2000P but again all works with NT4, however both memory and wheel work on all other applications in W2000P, only failing on PS.

"don’t like the feel"?

You mean you don’t like the fact that they’re faster and have more features?

Or that more recent versions are designed to work with more recent OSes?
