If you want to look at your pictures, consider an Epson P2000 rather than a Photo ipod (which should be named Thumbnail iPod).

You’ll get a 640 x480 display on an almost 4 inches screen, IIRC. Reviews all over the web…

too late pierre! 🙂 I really only got the photo version b/c it seems apple has discontinued the 40 gig model in the standard version.
