After loading some updates for my monitor and video card, I have the same error.

I use Photoshop Elements 3.0. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but no change. The uninstall didn’t remove the gamma loader from the control panel, so I suspect it didn’t reinstall it either.

I don’t understand your direction to go into control panel to create a new profile. The gamma loader fails accessing it both in startup and running directly in control panel.

Help is greatly appreciated!

You are confusing Adobe Gamma.cpl (the control panel applet) and Adobe Gamma Loader.exe which should be in your startup folder. They are two different applications.
