I’m thinking of getting PSCS or CS2 but I’ve been reading a lot about it slowing down on certain people’s PCs. If I’ve had a 30 day trial version of CS and there have been no slow down problems, does that mean a bought copy will run alright on my PC? I will be getting the full version, not an upgrade. Do the slow downs affect both full versions and upgrades?

My PC is a HP Compaq, looks like it’s running 4 Intel(R) Pentium CPUs, at 3.2 GHz with 1GB of RAM.

At this point you should get CS2. The trial version should be available soon.

Hi Richard!
From what I know, 2 things are important to run Photoshop properly: A good scratch disk and memory
With 1 Gig of memory, no problem there. I’m not sure that Photoshop takes kindly on using the C:\, even though it may be large…
My opinion, Marcel

Scratch disk? Personally, I run a second HD of 120 gigs where my scratch disk is.

If your trial copy works fine, then the full copy will perform identically (unless you add something to your system to mess it up). The trial is identical to the real thing, with some code added to make it expire in one month (or when you monkey with your system clock).

It only slows down if there is something wrong with the machine to start with….

Excellent. Thank you folks. I’d like to try the trial of CS2 first but I’m strapped for time, I hope it comes out soon.
