Hi,

Here I am again with my astounding questions?

When I plug Olympus sp550uz with the usb cable and then after open photshop, the import device appears in the menu.

If I unplug the camera and restart photoshop, it’s no more there while the scanner, WIA support, etc are.

What can I do to have the camera link staying in the menu?

Thanks for your attention.

How about just replug the device? Or make sure to plug the device *BEFORE* open Photoshop. Or try this

1. Cover your eyes

2. Open the book

3. See if you can read what the book says.

Now try the other method

1. Open the book

2. Read what the book says (not the whole book of course)

3. Now cover your eyes and see if you know what the book says.

Same with Photoshop, it isn’t an OS to know what may happen to the system, but it can only be able to read the information it’s designed to read, and it reads at beginning.

I am so lazy I could hurt myself. Gnan!
I did both.

it reads at beginning.
How comes it reads a scanner and a WIA support who is not even plug?
Because there is Twain_32.8BA filters inthe import folder. . . ha aaaaaaaaaaaaa
So do you think I would need such a filter for my camera? Hum!!!!!!!! What da you think .
Ha …………………

What can I do to have the camera link staying in the menu?

Ask Olympus if they have a 8ba filter for their camera.

Ho! Thanks.

I guess you got the answer by now?

You may wanna ask the scanner? BTW, most if not all scanners use TWAIN which should be installed and loaded by Windows.

Yup! and usually the TWAIN should be part of Windows. I don’t know exactly what the Twain_32.8BA is, it could be the default plug-in to load the real TWAIN driver, or the scanner does install it to Photoshop (?)

So do you think I would need such a filter for my camera? Hum!!!!!!!! What da you think .
Ha …………………

If the camera is TWAIN device then you will need to install its TWAIN driver to Windows, and Photoshop should detect it.

What can I do to have the camera link staying in the menu?

I am guessing.

1. Install the camera’s TWAIN driver

2. Connect the camera to USB before open Photoshop.

I’ve read the other responses to your question, and I don’t think it’s possible to do what you want. If you notice, when you launch Photoshop, it scans for input devices like scanners and of course, your camera. If it detects a scanner, camera, etc., it loads the necessary software to operate it. If you unplug the device and then relaunch Photoshop, it again scans for input devices and since your camera isn’t plugged in, it won’t detect it and won’t load the necessary software to run it.
Depending on the input device, I have found that hooking up and turning on a scanner, then launching PhotoShop, the scanner will show in the import menu. I can then turn off the scanner and unplug it (leaving Photoshop open) and later plugin and turn the scanner back on, and Photoshop will still recognize it.
You say that "If I unplug the camera and restart photoshop…." Why do you need to restart Photoshop? Can’t you just leave Photoshop open and unplug the camera? Doing this will allow you to reconnect the camera and import it’s pictures into Photoshop.
