What could cause Actions that I load to disappear when I restart CS2? I load the actions and they execute perfectely, but when I restart CS2 they’re not listed anymore. Running CS2 on the Windows XP platform.

Part of the Photoshop shutdown process is writing the contents of the Actions Palette to a file named Actions Palette.psp. When PS starts up, the contents of Actions Palette.psp is what populates the Actions Palette. Actions will disappear if CS2 is somehow not able to complete its shutdown process "normally." Examples of this would be power failures or killing PS from Task Manager.

It’s possible that Actions Palette.psp is somehow "read only," hence PS cannot save Actions Palette content to it.

It’s also possible that your security software is hosing you over. Do you by chance have Norton Antivirus installed?
