Suddenly in Photoshop CS3, when I make new files, and go to File > Print
Print > Paper Handling > Destination Paper Size, the "Use Documents
Paper Size" is frozen on "30 x 45 cm Sheet.

Normally the paper size is the same as the paper size I’ve chosen in Page Setup.

The problem only occurs with new files. Files that I made before today have the correct paper size showing up in the Destination paper size window.

When I print the new files, the paper advances too far and the print prints vertically instead of horizontally, because the page setup isn’t the right one.

When I print the old files, they print fine.

I quit Photoshop, put the Photoshop preferences file on the desktop and restarted Photoshop, but it didn’t help.

I also downloaded and installed the latest driver from the Epson Web site for my Epson 7600 printer and restarted the Imac.

I’m using OS 10.4.11.

I’ve never had this problem before.

The same problem is now occurring in Indesign CS3, and also with my Epxon 2400 printer driver.

I wonder if this has to do with Device Central, a new program that suddenly showed up on my Mac recently.

I figured out after exhaustive and exhausting research that the culprit is two out of seven of the TIFFs that I downloaded from another company are damaged, or at least they’re not being processed properly by the printer driver.

Is there a way to salvage damaged TIFFs?

Could the damage be because the files were initially saved in IBM format?

Have you tried saving them in a different format? If they display correctly, use File|Save As… to save them as PNG or JPG. Then close all open files and reopen the version you saved and, presuming that it loads and displays correctly, try to print it. If the problem was indeed file corruption, it is highly unlikely that the corruption will have survived the format change.
