Is there any way I can open or use an Indesign document (*.indd) in Photoshop?

Not really. You can export the pages as PDF or JPEG and open that in Photoshop, but that would render the text as pixels, so you can’t edit it any more.

‘Bout like opening a Word file in SoundForge; completely different kinds of programs.

Best you can do is export an InDesign PDF and then open the PDF in Photoshop.

Photoshop must rasterize (convert to pixels) an InDesign PDF. You lose layers and you lose the ability to edit text.
