Under Windows XP SP2 (Home) is it wise to change process priority of Photoshop.exe from Normal to High?

Would Above Normal be a better option?

Don’t know, but I’d try it. You can always revert back if your pc explodes.

It seems to give an immediate performance boost but does not retain the setting between startups.

I have not (nor am I likely to) try it when several applications are running.

BTW: disclaimer – I cannot be help responsible if people try this and PS shoots of at a very high speed. 🙂

Suffice to say: immediate performance boost seems obvious
