Shouldn’t an "image1.psf " open in Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0?

I get an ‘Editor’ pop-up saying "Cannot open ‘…image1.psf ‘ because it is the wrong type of file."

In Photoshop a .PSF File is what you get when you save a Soft Proof Setup. It is not an image, and it is saved into a fairly obscure system folder.

There seem to be other file types with the same initials, and some of them might open as images if the ending is changed to .jpg and you then try "Open As".

Thank you, Roy. I don’t think it was a Photoshop product, Photoshop just ‘grabbed’ it when a friend emailed it to me.
I did change ending to .jpg, and that was the necessary trick. Thanks!
