I have a full figure portrait image. I’ve selected just the image, put it on it’s own layer, and made it pop out with emboss.

But I want to go further with the pop, and either forgot how, or can’t find how. I want the belt loops, the curves of her chest, the shoelaces, the bra to pop out also separate from the full image pop.

Any ideas on how to go about this ? I don’t want to change the image quality, Just want everything to jump out at you.

Color range selection to new layer and emboss ?

There are too many ideas to be able to figure out exactly what type of idea you need for your image. To me, popping is to adjust the image to have natural look, you may boost up the color tone a little, and for portrait you may sharpen the eyes a little etc.. And this shouldn’t need any fancy but some basic tools with magic touch.

And if you want to go a little further then I would suggest you to point your browser to a web site called Action Central (www.atncentral.com) I may have the link wrong but you can always GOOGLE for the correct link.

And if you want to be able to compare yours with others then I would suggest you to join the web site called www.dpreview.com and drop your image to one of the forums called RETOUCH to ask other to work on yours, ask them for their step-by-step technique etc.. I haven’t monitored the dpreview for around 2 years to know what’s going on, but I used to monitor there for years.
