You ask your question with an attitude as if you are asking from whom you bought the program (if you bought it). Not as if you are asking for help from the welfare. I love you.

You will lose everything you altered. Thus, save all alterations. When the new program is installed. copy it to
main drive/program files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS3/Presets/etc…

Be careful with you way of talking when being a hard up streetwalker. If not, contact Adobe and ask thém your questions…

This, SpaceGirl, sound like one of those (many) guys asking for help and disappear without a trace (or even a thank you) after being helped.
Didn’t you listen to the tone of his voice?

Same with most other filters and applications.

– *If* they require some specific installation then you may have to reinstall so they can talk with whatever the main program you want them to communicate with.

– *If* they are just some simple file (filter) on a specific folder then they may not need reinstallation but just COPY or tell the main aps (Photoshop for example) where to locate them.

It won’t hurt to try so you can give it a try by keeping the PLUG-INS folder then either tell CS3 (why not wait for CS4 as it will be released any day now) where to locate it.

They will not be recognized. I recommend putting your third party filters in a separate folder, then specifying this folder in your Settings. That way you can retain your filters across versions of Photoshop. —

….Dave is a troll. Quite a few of us have killfiled the jerkwad because he does nothing but berate people. Especially those looking for help. Best thing that could happen is for someone to beat the living frack out of him, but as we all know trolls never get what’s coming to them.

….Note that this doesn’t always work. Some really *old* filters that required extra .dll’s to be installed in the actual Photoshop directory will have to be reinstalled in order to put those .dll’s back in place. Also, I’ve had difficulty with some filters no longer working because "MMX" support doesn’t work right under CS3. Hence the need to keep both CS2 and CS3 on the system. Oddly enough, the only reason I installed CS3 was for the 3D Mesh importation, and even that wasn’t good enough to steer me away from rendering in either 3D Studio or Lightwave, and saving the image as a TIFF with the alpha channel saved as a mask for future composition.
