Windows and Adoboe Photoshop Scratch File

I recently had my computer worked on and had to reload all my software. The first several times I opened Adobe Photoshop, I got a popup window telling me that my Windows and the Adobe scratch file should not be on the same drive and that it would cause problems. Now my computer runs very slow and sometimes freezes when I try to work with pictures, especially when I open a directory list.
What is going on? How can I fix it? I ran Windows and Adobe Photoshop the same way in the past and never had this problem before.

Err – that was merely an advisory. Putting the PS swap space on another drive can allow PS to run faster.
However, before anybody can help you with the slow computer, you must tell us more about it. You know, such things as processor speed, amount of RAM (by the way how much of the RAM do you allow PS to use?), disk free space, disk speed, etc.

If you have more than one HDD, you should put the Photoshop Scratch disk and the Windows Paging file on different drives.

Can you post your system specs?

If you go the Help>System Info you can paste the results into a message here, BUT we do not need the list of plugins and you should remove your Photoshop Serial # from the list before posting.
