Sorry, I cross posted this on Adobe.Photoshop.Windows, but i thought i might catch someone here that did not go there.

In Photoshop CS2 i had seen and used a tutorial to create a web page with rollovers from Photoshop. Yes, i know Photoshop is not the best tool to do this with, however, it could still be done. It used Imageready to edit the roll-overs, HOWEVER, cs3 no longer utilizes Imageready, so any suggestions on how to do this in CS3? Thanks in advance.

you need at least two images. Create content on one layer, then duplicate the layer and edit it. You can also use layer styles to apply effects.

Use preset button styles from the Styles palette to create rollover buttons with normal, mouseover, and mousedown states. Draw a basic shape with the rectangle tool and apply a style, such as Beveled Normal, to automatically turn the rectangle into a button. Then copy the layer and apply other preset styles, like Beveled Mouseover, to create additional button states. Save each layer as a separate image to create a finished rollover button set.

Use the Save For Web & Devices dialog box to save rollover images in a web-compatible format and with an optimized file size.

After creating a rollover image set in Photoshop, use your HTML wrtiter to place the images on a web page and automatically add the JavaScript code for the rollover action.

I think the OP’s "HTML writer" is Bridge (Tools | Photoshop | Web Photo Gallery) and he doesn’t want to use a better tool.

Completely right, Bob, and very obviously one of those bloody twits making me feel sorry for the effort I did. Maybe we
should ignore outsiders completely.

Everything that was in IR and CS2 is in CS3
it is hidden
I panicked at losing IR till I realized CS3 has it all – just not a stand alone anymore

go to preferences and make sure the menus are open fully with all choices showing onthe ones you use most
or the bottom of each menu (expand all)

Hi KatWoman,

Sorry, I have not been on here for a while. I have always appreciated and respected your help. I am not sure i understand what you are saying, are you saying that IR is in CS3, but just hidden? I did as you suggested and expanded all my menu’s but still did not see it.

Someone told me to download Sitegrinder, I have but have not had a chance to use it. I am not necessarly trying to build a web site with PS, but just remember seeing a tutorial in a book on how to do it. I was trying to show it to some students and it would not work in CS3 because of the IR missing. I use Dreamweaver and have started using Expressions some for web pages, but just thought the tutorial was pretty cool, and wanted to share it.

Thanks for your input.

It is all there in CS3 it is not called image ready that’s all

the tools from Image ready are all in CS3

such as window>>animation palette
also slices etc things you needed from IR
will be found under tools and menu items

maybe just use a newer tutorial>?

if you get really stuck
download a template of a webpage from Adobe Studio Exchange and see how it got put together
it helps to learn by seeing it
