When I convert raws images in CS2 I automatically end up with this extra XMP file. How do I shut that off.

From Bridge select Edit>Camera Raw Preferences.

As does FireFox, BUT, without an XSLT, what you see is little different to opening in a text editor.

With the appropriately written XSLT, it can not only be formatted, (<item></item> displayed as sub-headers for instance), but also just which fields to display can be controlled.
