all Windoz comes with that folder and other My Whatevers but you can rename them

look at some your other programs maybe they are design to look for those by default and if not found re-creates them
I had one program that made a bunch of stupid folders in my documents of course they are empty cause I don’t use them

My Ebooks (I have none)
My Received files ?? wth
My faxes (have not set any fax prog)

There’s a small setting in the registry that will stop XP [not hassle la vista] from checking and remaking the "MY" crap.

PS, on boot, always looks in that directory for loading or saving, then
[during that session] uses the directory you name. Perhaps the direct ‘call’
forces XP to make it?

Yes, they are so annoying. I never used those dirs, just ignored them. It’s a waste of time trying to figure out such things. By the next release/update/upgrade/whatever things will change and you’ll be back to where you started.

Yes, they are so annoying. I never used those dirs, just ignored them. It’s a waste of time trying to figure out such things. By the next release/update/upgrade/whatever things will change and you’ll be back to where you started.

The sad thing is I only ever lay into her when she’s abjectly wrong (i.e. "every version of Windows uses the ‘MY’ folder scheme"). I think she’s just afraid/incapable of admitting to it.
