I am totally new. Been using Paintshop pro.
Could you please tell me what the difference is between Photoshop and Image Ready Thank you

image ready is used basically to prepare images for web use (slicing, image mapping, etc.) and creating aninmations for export to gif or swf. ps is the full blown image editor.

A skilled PhotoShop artist doesn’t need ImageReady at all. It’s a tool that simplifies the product of web ready images, but to be honest if you are a "hard core" design, IR will only limit you. PhotoShop is the only thing I use these days. Oh and Painter IX from time to time 🙂

I agree with SpaceGirl. The ONLY thing I use ImageReady for is animation. All my web work, slices, rollovers, etc., I do in Photoshop.
