I have a license Full Version of Adobe PhotoShop 7.0.1 running on my computer and upgraded to Adobe PhotoShop CS 8.0, Witch is also running Now I am going to upgrading to Adobe Photoshop CS2 Upgrade, The question I have can I delete ps 7 and Ps cs after the upgrade to Photoshop CS2, or should I keep Ps 7all the time?.

I also have in Photoshop 7 (Plug-in folder 109) and in Photoshop 8.0 (Plug-in folder70), I am going to take Ps 7 plug-ins and put theme in Ps Cs2 folder is this the right way to keep my plug-ins, I am using Windows XP and service pack 2, Amount of installed RAM 768 Amount of free disk space. 60.0GB.

Thank you,

Dick M.

You can delete PS7 and CS1 but you don’t have to. Each new version will be installed in its own separate directory. Personally I prefer to leave the older versions – just in case you need them in an emergency.

As for the plug-ins. I would only import the ones you definitely need, into the current version. Too many plug-ins can increase the amount of time it takes Photoshop to load. So long as they are still on your computer it is a relatively easy task to copy them across into the current plug-ins folder as and when they are required.

Another way is to copy them all across, and add a tilde [~] to the beginning of the filename of all the ones you are not currently using. To reinstate them just remove the tilde.

Hope this helps. Glad you are going for CS2. You’ll not regret it!
