Ehh, I’m new to all of this. I’ve never had problems with Photoshop before and now I’m having all sorts of issues, and I’m worried since i’ve been doing this since 4.0 days. 🙂

Two problems. When I save images for the web in Photoshop seven, they save about 40% darker than the original, and its really a hassle to adjust it. I’ve tried adjusting the color proofs, the monitor, nothing’s working. Is this something I can fix in Photoshop or is it an entirely a different problem? I was making icons today and they were saving darker, and no matter how much I fixed the icon (and messed with proofing), it didn’t really fix is as much as I had hoped with saving.

< http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v511/humancarbine/yayoi3c. jpg> – The closest I could get it to the original (40% brighter), but still wasn’t working well.

My other problem is the really annoying problem. I use multiply to darken my images usually, and since I’ve installed PS7 on my computer, I’ve had this problem! Whenever I use the filter, and change the opacity, without resizing the image a lot smaller (100-200px), it’ll do this.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I’ve had this problem for two months now and I haven’t been able to figure out how to fix it! I would really apperciate it! Thank you so much if you can help me!

1) rerun adobe gamma. you’re monitor profile is out of whack. save for web is not color managed, the rest of PS is.

2) this multiply bug was fixed in the 7.01 update.

I’ve solved the first problem, thanks a bunch there, but I go to fix the bug with the update but its not recognizing the Photoshop 7 directory as the directory it needs to be installed in. It says it kind find the file(s) it needs to install itself.

Oh man, today is just not my day.

The 7.0.1 updater looks for known pirated serial numbers. But some legit numbers were known to be among them. If you have a legally registered copy, call Adobe.

Looks like I’m gonna have to call Adobe support then. *sigh* Well, thanks for all the help you gave me here, guys! 🙂
