What is a good resource to use to learn PS 7?

Depends on your knowledge of PS. This forum is a great place if you already know the basics.

Otherwise, your local community college probably has a Level I and Level II course, or there’s literally dozens of popular books on the subject.

On the web, hundreds of people have tutorials on how to do this or that. Learn Google <http://www.google.com> or any other good search engine and query "Photoshop [fill in the desired effect] Tutorial."

However the only way to get good is practice and more practice. Do you work with PS professionally? If not, switch to Photoshop Elements.

Chris, you may go to <http://www.comdevweb.com/techgraphic.php>, there are basic guides on how to improve images quality and resize the images using Adobe Photoshop.

Hopefully you will gain something from that site.

I bought Adobe’s "Photoshop Classroom in a Book" and found it a good way to get started. It provides a number of projects to get you familiar with the toolset. I think this is better than the book that comes with the product. I like to see examples of what Photoshop can do and walk through the projects, and the Classroom in a Book book does just this. I’ve gone back to the book a number of times and repeated the lessons and I’m finally starting to feel comfortable with Photoshop.

It helps if you have some goal in mind regarding what you want to do with Photoshop. I wanted to improve my digital picture and am getting good at improving my pictures. I’ve also done some web site work withthe accompanying ImageReady program.

Another pretty cool resource is at:
http://www.dvgarage.com/
You have to register on the site (but it’s painless and free). Once registered, at this page, click the "TechTV" link (one of the links on the left hand side). That leads to a page full of Photoshop tips–not only text explanations, but also streaming videos showing exactly how the tip was done. Check it out.

Lastly, Burt Monroy is a regular on TechTV’s "The ScreenSavers" and he always has good Photoshop tips. Go to the following URL: http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/answerstips/story/0,24330 ,3374134,00.html and there will be a list of links to a bunch of Photoshop tips that he’s demonstrated on the show.

Hope this helps and good luck. Photoshop is a blast.
