I thought this would be an easy find in the manual but it seems to just dance around what I want to do.

I have a rather simple request.

If I have a photo that has

red
green
brown
yellow

and I want anything that is yellow to be transparent

how would I do this?

I figured there would be a little place where I could select the color I want to make transparent, and the threshold but all I can find is a little box that locks transparency. I searched and searched and got a little frustrated because it seems like such a logical and easy thing to do but I give up. Can anyone help please 🙂

thanks

One way to approach this is to use the Color Range selection, select your color (adjust fuzziness to fine tune selection) and then add a mask. This will make that color transparent. You can always play with the mask (levels, blur, brushing) later to further fine tune the selection.
