I just want to know if it is possible to use an image array for my buttons? Right now I have 8 tab buttons and they are each used 2 times, in some programs such as flash you can use one image and just use several instances of that image, but I can’t find anything on the subject for photoshop. When opened these 16 images are 24 MB which sounds extremely high to me.

Thanks,

In versions before CS2 you need to copy the art manually but CS2 (just released) added image instancing via the new Smart Objects feature.

I’ve not used it on a project yet but I’ve tinkered with it and it seems pretty useful. I don’t understand it’s limits yet, though.
