Hi everybody,

I’m using a legal copy of Adobe Master Collection CS3. So far anything fine, till I installed the downloaded trial version of Photoshop CS4, just to see if upgrading to CS4 would be worth the money.

Of course this trial expired after 30 days. After this period I have trouble with runing my legal CS3. Every 30 days it says my licence is expired. This problem is surprisingly simply to solve, since overwriting the photoshop.exe file with a copy of the original got things back to going so far.

The bigger problem is, that I cannot add parts of the program anymore (i.e. Fireworks CS3), since the installation procedure is looking for installation files of the CS4 trial (????) at the location where I unpacked the trial download. I already manually removed all left overs of CS4 in the registry, but the problem remains.

Has anyone of you wise guys (and girls) a clue how to solve this?

Thanx i.a.

Olaf

If necessary, consider formatting, Keels. This of course is if no else pitch up with a better solution. People should always make use of ‘image’ programs. I am known for saying there is no better anti virus program than Norton Ghost. This would also have solved your problem.

there is a cleanup tools cor cs4 pre beta etc on the adobe site. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406241.html#CS4CleanWin

i personally didnt have a problem with eh 30 day trial of cs4 and still runnign cs3 other than i found cs4 slower than cs3

however is did have a problem too with simply adding another app, in my case it was flash. In the end i had to completely take out alll the cs4 stuff, but nothing i did affected cs3. Altering the vga side to off did speed it up a little but i still found it slower than cs3.

My test was merely to type out a word in a font, then transform stretch it, i can see it redrawing in cs4 slower than in cs3.
