I’m running the trial version.

I’m seeing somewaht sluggish performance with CS2 vs my current 7.01.

• Startup – Slower.Bare bones, no extra plugins loading, no extra shapes etc. Everything is still at default settings. Could this be due to the fact that is IS the trial and the activation screens load every time?

Will a true upgrade load faster once activated?

Opening files:
• Opening a 1.3 MB photo 300 ppi – 2048 X 1536 is significantly slower than 7.01

• When opening a folder from File>>Open the list of files is slower to show….PS 7 boom! the list is there, but CS2 the list sort of comes in line by line.

• Any of the blur functions performed on a full sized photo as mentioned above is slower that PS 7.01…not horrifically slower, but quite noticable.

• I don’t know how I can explain this right….but the whole work area ‘feels’ sluggish when I drag my Wacom pen or optical mouse around.

I keep my system in tip top shape, I run cleanup, scandisk, and defrag every day. I have turned off all un-needed services. The only thing running in the background is ZoneAlarm.

These are my system specs. <http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/3724/4172su4.shtml>

Check your default printer (should not be networked).

And update your video driver.

Thanks Chris. I’ll try updating the video driver since the printers are not networked.
