Lookin’ to buy PS CS4 (not extended). Where can I get the best price (and not get bamboozled)? I’ve check on the net and it sells over a wide variety of prices. I’ve considered waiting for CS5 in April – but I’m not so sure the new features I read about are something I would use.

If you are in the USA, consider taking a course at a local college. As a student you qualify for a substantial discount. The student version is the same as the commercial – only the EULA is different – you are not permitted to transfer the license in any way.

WOW!!! That sounds like a great tip – as long as the tuition is worth it. I’m somewhat comfortable with PS already.

I find a student in my family or friends to buy it for me. All that is needed is someone with a student id. I usually buy at a college bookstore. It is upgradable when the next version comes out.
