Distinct Color Separation

Maybe some one out here can help me with color issues that I¡¯m having. Using PSCS when proofing in CYMK I see very distinct color separation between some of my colors verses turning proofing off that makes all colors smooth from light to dark and one color blending into another.

My question is once finding this separation of colors how can I correct for this error?

Is this one image all images? What do you have your colour management settings set to? What colour space are you selecting in Proof colours?

Color management is set to Preserve Embedded Profiles, symptom is not with all images and proofing in CMYK (above I labeled CYMK).
