Hello

It is somewhat irritating to have the transform handles displaying, with a selected object, but right clicking does not give transform options.
Why not? You have to select a handle, or do CTRL T.
The warp is good, but it does not respond to a double-click to commit the transform. All the other transform options do. You need to press enter.

Rather wonderfully the warp works on vector shapes, but not on unrasterized text. I do get a warp option, but nothing happens, when I move the warp handles and press enter.
If I try again, I get a " could not complete your request, because the source rectangle is empty" message.

i’ve noticed that too. i’d like to see it fixed, if fixes are forthcoming…

Don’t have CS yet (2 more weeks!) but isn’t there a check box to commit in the options bar? Just curious.

yes. that’s how you have to confirm it. they did something to the quality of the transforms too (warp included). they seem to degrade much less than in previous versions! 🙂

Hello

Double click should be sufficient for all transforms. Why the need for a extra action just for warp?

Really? Can you give an example of how you noticed it?

not really… maybe it’s just perceptual, but everything looks sharper to me in cs2. I seem to recall much more blurring when doing transforms in cs… lemmie run some tests and i’ll post em if i can get something conclusive…

Why the need for a extra action just for warp?

dunno. i just tested again to be sure. tested double clicking the grid points inside and on the edge of the grid, and clicking on the area between grid lines, none of the above confirms. The ENTER key still confirms, as does the check mark in the option bar.

An oversight? Or some technical reason? My guess is oversight because you can always switch back to free transform (or perspective, skew, etc) and keep working or double click to commit.

Adobe guys? Oversight?

UI reason – in Free Transform, there are no controls inside, so double clicking works fine.

In Warp, clicking inside moves things – so that really shouldn’t commit!

hmm… nothing conclusive… hmm… still… maybe it’s like that "new car" smell. 🙂

ah. makes sense. i’m just glad you added it. it’s a wonder! it’s like distort on steroids. i have no problem with switching modes or hitting the check mark if that’s the way it has to be…

can you share any comments on if the quality of the transforms (ie less lossiness) when transforming in cs2 vs. cs? is it just me or did you guys do some tweaking?

Hello

What would really be useful is click transform, having selected a object and rightclick commit, having completed the transform.

right click brings up all the different transforms so you can switch from on your image. i wouldn’t like to see that change…

hello

I find having to do a CTRL T or clicking on a handle annoying. Select the layer and right click to select Transform, right click again to select the transform mode and having transformed, right click to Commit(Transform changes to Commit). Contextual menu.

Also double clicking with warp, should not move anything. Try moving the mouse and try double clicking.

There is no need to omit the double click even for Warp.
