Searched and couldn’t find anything so here goes.

Am running PSCS on my Dell Inspiron 8200 (P4 1.6 1Gb Ram, WinXP Home preloaded) and would like to use my 2Gb Microdrive as a scratchdisk, as a 2d HD is not an option for this machine. I leave it in all the time anyway.

But I can’t select it in the Prefs, meaning (I assume) that removable disks are a no-no. Is there any way anyone can think of to convince WinXP or PS or both that this drive isn’t removable?

Andy,

I believe I’ve seen it stated somewhere in the forum that, as you guessed, removable drives are not supported as scratch disks in PS. I won’t swear to it, but I’m guessing a microdrive wouldn’t perform as well as your primary hard drive, even if the primary drive has to be your scratch disk.
