I have downloaded a number of fonts to be added to captions I create with CS. They all download as regular typefaces. With Winword I can change them to Bold or Italic, but haven’t been able to do so with Photoshop Any ideas if this is possible.

What version of PS are you using ?

Not one of the TOP techies around here, but if you are in v6, for instance, when you selct the text layer, then a Pallete is available from which you can choose Faux Bold or Faux Italic. In v6 though, this renders the distort menu inoperative.

The options are in the Character Palette.
