Hi. I want to know if you have photshop cs premium, you can just use the upgrade to photoshop cs2 (non premium). Second question, if you can do this, will you disable the use of the other programs that are not upgraded with the non premium version like Acrobat professional? when I got cs, I found myself only using photoshop and acrobat professional. I dont see the point of purchasing the full premium upgrade if I am not using it.

thanks,
Kathi

What is Photoshop CS premium? Do you mean Creative Suite premium? It would appear so from the rest of your post. If you have a Creative Suite and not the standalone Photoshop program, you have to buy the upgrade to the suite. When you upgrade, you are no longer independently licensed for the old suite. I suspect, but am not certain, that if you have the Pro Suite and buy a non-Pro Suite upgrade you would be able to use only the programs in the upgraded Suite, but not Acrobat professional from the old version of the Pro Suite. Contact Adobe customer service to find out what happens if you buy a downgraded upgrade.

You cannot upgrade a suite component to a point product.

Did you get the CS suite as an upgrade? I think you can then use your version 7 or earlier version of PS to upgrade it only. You will probably have to buy Acrobat as a full program, if you don’t want the suite upgrade.
