I don’t know if this is a Photoshop or Bridge problem. Since I have been advised to post problems for each in its own forum, I guess I’ll need to post it on both forums.

WinXP

I wrote an action for use on 560 Photoshop images. The action changes them profile and mode of the file then saves and closes the file. It is to work on all selected images in Bridge.

On the very first file the following error message comes up:

Could not save "file name" because the file is already in use or was left open.

I decided to just close the file without saving it, and go to CS to get the action to work. That ELIMINATED the file and replaced it with a file named, ~ps63.tmp. There was no way to recover the original file. It is lost

This really stops the CS2 show for me. Adobe better get this thing fixed in a hurry.

I had something like this happen in CS shortly after it came out and somebody else reported it at the same time. I got that message, closed the file and, when I went to look for it, it had completely disappeared. It never happened after that.

However, I have been using Bridge with CS2 in the last few days and I’ve had that message probably four or five times. I have saved the file under a different name and have had no problems but it sounds like it is a manifestation of the same bug.
