instead of cropping double click the background layer in the layer pallete that will turn it into a layer then go to the select drop down menu and select all then go to the edit drop down menu and select transform , scale and try scaling it down, instead of cropping and changing the file size. Hello,

at my work, I have some pdf files containing text (book covers). There is no chance of getting the original graphic files from the guy who made them. But I have to put these book covers into a printed catalogue (made with indesign), into the web and so on. I have to crop the images, (likely) increase contrast and the text is supposed to stay readable.
Now I wonder which is the best way to do so. I thought open the pdf files in photoshop, crop them, save them with smaller image size. But what about the fonts? Is there a better way? Any help is appreciated 😉
Greetings,
Ursula
