Morning all, Would like to use the gamma control panel, but clicking the Adobe Gamma Loader.exe does not provide the cp. Have gone through the gamut of PS products 5, 6, and now cs, on this single 80gb hd. Needed some space so used add/remove programs to delete 5 and 6.

Was this my mistake??
Can just the gamma control panel parts be reinstalled from cs oem cd??

Current gamma software that I know of on this hd:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Calibration\Old
Adobe Gamma Loader.exe
Adobe Gamma ReadMe.txt
Adobe Gamma.cpl

Win2k sp4, p4 2.8, 1 gb Ram, 80gb hd

Am I missing anything??

thanx,
jeff

Jeff,

The Adobe Gamma applet is available in the Control Panel and is loaded automatically when you turn on your computer. You should be able to make your adjustments there. If it is NOT in your Control Panel, then reinstalling is the best bet.

And you sometimes need to be logged as administrator to have access to AdobeGamma.

Jeff,

Adobe Gamma.cpl is the C/Panel applet. If necessary, copy it to c:\windows\system32

Thanx all, And the winner is Len, with his suggestion to place the control panel in it’s correct and proper place. Not sure why it was no longer there, but putting it there and restarting was the trick.

Pierre, good point on admin, will remember to list as standard vital sign. Extensis products require users to be at least local administrator, to run w/o startup complaints. So yes, I did have that aspect covered.

Thanx both for the help averting a crisis. Keep up the good work.

best,
jeff
