Does anyone have suggestions for improving the overall sharpness of a photographic image that is good but could be better if it’s focus was sharper.

I’ve got Photoshop 7, Illustrator 10, as my primary tools.

Thanks,

-Kenny

A lot of the time a blurred image is hard to correct. You know the saying, "Crap in, crap out." But, you can try this: Filter>Sharpen>Unsharp Mask. Set your Amount to 100%-150% and fool around with Radius and Threshold until you are satisfied. Remember, most of the time the smaller, more subtle change, the better. Hope this helps.

Another way… not better or worse… just different.
Convert mode to lab color then go to channels pallete and choose the ‘Lightness’ channel and do unsharp mask on just that channel. Then convert back to RGB… CMYK… whatever.
Similar results to what John said.
