Upgrading from CS1 Educational to CS2 or Photoshop Professional

Ok so I’ve tried to search the adobe site to find a coherent answer on this question to no avail. I currently own the Creative Suite 1 (Educational Edition) and want to upgrade to CS2 or Photoshop CS2 Professional Edition (ie: not the educational edition). As I am not a teacher anymore this becomes an important question. Obviously I would rather spend $550 than $1,200. But I also don’t want to end up buying the product and finding out I can’t use it.

Does anyone know the answer to this question or come across this issue before?

It has come across the forums many times. You can use your Ed version to upgrade to a full version. You will have a full, commercial license.

Your only upgrade path is to the full suite. You can’t upgrade to any point products from the suite. As already pointed out, the academic versions are fully upgradable to commercial versions.

It’s also worth pointing out that you can use academic versions for commercial use.

OK, I’m still a student. What are my options for upgrading from CS1 (1.1) Suite Academic to CS2 Suite, Academic or otherwise?

Actually you can upgrade the Suite Academically if you are a full time student…www.academicsuperstore has the CS2 academic upgrade for 349.00.
