When PS CS and 7.0 is loading, does it only read PS fonts (Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts) or all the fonts on the computer(Windows/Fonts)?

Thanks,

All of the fonts not just PostScript. This is why if you have too many fonts loaded it can take Photoshop sometime to load. Also, if you should ever get a lock up during the scanning of fonts it means that you have a bad font file.

OK, since I rarely use fonts in Photoshop, as I work with photographs and not text, and I rarely use but two or three fonts in other programs, could I create a ZIP file of all the fonts I don’t use without causing problems loading PS? Does Photoshop access specific fonts for use by the program, such as for menus, the help screen and files, and so on? Are those the fonts in the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder, or are they also in the Windows/Fonts folder?

Thanks!

It might I don’t know. Hopefully someone that does will answer. You should be able to disable/uninstall all of the fonts that didn’t come with Windows or Photoshop without any problems. Many programs install a bunch of what are often junk TrueType fonts, these if you don’t need them should be able to be gotten rid of.
