I upgraded to CS2 and I am happy to report that it runs fine, even though my system is probably one of the oldest ones around…

No blazing speeds, but very workable (and not much slower than CS or PS7).

Windows 2000 SP4
Dell Dimension XPS T700r
Intel Pentium running at 700MHz (how’s that for slow)
RAM: 768 MB
Video Card: NVidia GeForce4 MX 420
Hard Drives: Ultra66 IDE, 20 GB (system and progs) and 110 GB (Data) Scratch file on separate partition of system drive

I just thought I’d report some good news for a change…

Regards,

Rafael

I’ve got you all beat!!! The machines in our lab don’t even HAVE VIDEO Cards! Just Intel controller chips…and only 495 of memory due to the fact that the controller chip shares 16 MB of memory with the system RAM! And CS2 is running fine! (I was expecting at least a small explosion or fire on at least one of the systems!!!!)

We do however have all Windows Eye Candy turned off!!! And systems set to best performance!

Lab computers are $899.00 Gateway E-4100.

Dell Dimension XPS T700r

I have one of these that I bought in 1999. It is a great machine that runs CS quite well. It has one of the longer internal card slots that I need for an old analog-to-digital converter board.

Yes, it runs PS quite well. I like it a lot, can’t believe such an old machine can do so well when so many people with the newest and fastest are having all kinds of problems….
