I have Windows XP and use Photoshop CS. I also have Photoshop 5.5 and Photoshop 7.0 installed on my computer. Can I uninstall PS 5.5 and PS 7.0 and still be able to use CS? My hard drive is getting filled up and I would like to uninstall unneeded programs.

Thanks,
Marge

I always like to keep just one previous version – and you’ll be surprised just how little space is actually freed up by removing them.

When you do remove them, do so via the Add/Remove programs in Control Panel, and answer NO when asked if you want to remove any files being used by other programs.

Hope this helps.

Chris is correct.

If you’re getting that tight on hard drive space, it’s time to get another one.

Between Photoshop 7.x and ImageReady 7.x, you’re only talking about 100 MB. Add maybe another 45MB or so for Photoshop 5.5. As for any brushes, gradients, patterns, etc. that can be used in both versions—you only need one set of each to share. Same with plugins.

So the applications aren’t really taking up much space. They can be handy to have around.

Again…look into buying a second or a larger hard drive.
